Metamask is a browser extension and mobile wallet that allows users to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) on the Ethereum blockchain. It acts as a bridge between your browser and the blockchain, allowing you to securely store, send, and receive Ethereum and other ERC-20 tokens.
Creating a MetaMask wallet
- Install the Metamask browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, or Brave, or download the Metamask mobile app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Click on the Metamask icon in your browser or mobile device and select "Create a Wallet."
- Follow the prompts to create a new password, read and accept the terms of use, and then click "Create."
- You will be shown a 12-word seed phrase that you must write down and keep somewhere safe. This phrase can be used to recover your wallet if you ever lose access to it, so it's important that you keep it secret and secure.
- Once you've written down your seed phrase, click "Next" to confirm that you've saved it somewhere safe.
- Your Metamask wallet is now created! You can now use it to store, send, and receive Ethereum and other ERC-20 tokens.

- Back up your seed phrase in a secure location, such as a hardware wallet or a piece of paper stored in a safe place.
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) to increase the security of your wallet.
- Connect your Metamask wallet to decentralized applications (dApps) to start using them.
